Description

A still red wine from Trentino-Alto Adige, produced by Gaierhof. 100% Teroldego, a native grape variety that best expresses the characteristics of the Piana Rotaliana. Vintage 2018. The Togn family, owners of Gaierhof, has established a privileged relationship with their suppliers, based on mutual trust. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, with maceration for 14 days. Aged in wood for 2 years, after which the blend is blended and racked into stainless steel, filtration and bottling take place, concluding with a further 12 months of bottle aging. A bold bouquet with pronounced notes of red fruits, raspberry jam, and wild blackberry. Mint and sweet spice notes are evident, thanks to the long aging in wood. Red in color with garnet highlights. On the palate, it offers a lively acidity with balanced tannins that lend body, structure, elegance, and persistence to the wine.

"Négociant of grapes" is Gaierhof’s philosophy since the establishment of the company. The Togn family has forged a privileged relationship with local winegrowers, who provide Gaierhof with the best grapes production after decades of a relationship based on mutual trust.

Today, the Togn constitute one of the few family-run companies in the region, with 12 employees and an impressive annual production of 800,000 bottles. Among their properties are the Valdadige, Gaierhof, and Lechthaler wineries, and the standard-bearer, Maso Poli.
