Origin Hilly area of the Dolcetto di Dogliani in the municipality of Cigliè (Alta Langa)
Climate Exposure: south-east. Altitude: 500 - 550 m a.s.l.
Soil composition The soil in this area is limestone as in Serralunga but in addition has a stony substrate (stone langa) that helps the vine to develop the characteristic minerality, altitude and cooler climate mean that even the smells are more complex.
Plants per hectare 5500
Yield per hectare 50 hl
Harvest The harvest takes place towards the beginning of October.
Wine making The fermentation takes place in stainless steel at 16 °C for 40 days and then is cooled to prevent malolactic fermentation. The sugar residues are of 5-6 grams per liter, since the low temperature fermenting yeasts are blocked at this point; the slight residue helps the aromatic expression of Riesling.
Aging Remains on the lees for 6 months, without batonnages and bottled in May.
Residual sugar 5.0 gr/L
Allergens Contains sulphites
