Description

What kind of wine it is

The Champagne Premier Cru Vignes de Bisseuil Extra Brut by Egly-Ouriet is a Traditional Method sparkling wine with a straw yellow colour and an extremely fine perlage. This blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier offers a bouquet with clear fruity notes, enriched by fragrant pastry aromas. On the palate, it stands out for its mineral freshness and a dry sip that evolves into a long-lasting finish. Served between 6 and 8°C, it pairs harmoniously with starters, fish and shellfish dishes, or with selections of refined cheeses.

Where it comes from

Originating from Bisseuil, a Premier Cru area of Champagne, this wine is born on chalky soils capable of reflecting sunlight and releasing warmth during the night. The soil composition naturally regulates water reserves, giving the glass a pronounced mineral identity. The grapes come from old vines that concentrate aromatic intensity and guarantee a taut flavour profile, an authentic expression of the terroir of origin.

How it is produced

The vinification process begins with fermentation entrusted exclusively to indigenous yeasts, followed by the prise de mousse as required by the Traditional Method. The wine then undergoes maturation in oak barrels for 48 months: a prolonged rest that enhances its aromatic complexity. The evolution in wood enriches the structure while maintaining the acidic tension of the Extra Brut dosage, culminating in a long and vibrant finish.

History and Curiosities

The prestigious Egly-Ouriet maison presents the elegant Champagne Premier Cru Vignes de Bisseuil, the result of old vines cultivated on chalky soils that give the grapes a vibrant mineral identity. Production meticulously follows the traditional method with the use of indigenous yeasts, enriched with nuances thanks to a lengthy 48-month maturation in oak. Highly acclaimed by international critics, this refined Extra Brut boasts an extremely fine perlage and perfect balance, bringing the authentic excellence of an exceptional terroir to the glass.

A Champagne that represents its terroir: the vine and soil are found throughout this wine, thanks to old vines, a few winemaker's secrets and modern technology. Egly-Ouriet produces champagne only with grapes from its 11.5 hectares company's vineyards, the most important of which are in Ambonnay, the home of Pinot Noir, the others in Bouzy, Verzenay and Vrigny. Quality begins on this particular soil, made up of layers of chalk that reflect the sun's rays and release heat to the vines at night, allowing excess water to be absorbed and giving the grapes a particularly mineral taste.
