Harvesting is done manually in the 54 hectares of approximately 50 years old vineyards. In 1996 the family bought the Château Pimpine, located on the same rocky plateau. The principles of biodynamic agriculture are followed today as in the past: the vines are grown naturally according to ancestral methods, without the addition of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides or pesticides. Soils composed of clay, silica and limestone are perfect soils for the growth of the main grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Carménère, Sémillon.
No selected yeast is added. Barthélemy" and "Marie-Elisa" wines are produced without the slightest addition of sulphites. The wine is aged in large oak barrels and finally bottled without filtration, following the phases of the waning moon. This process makes it possible to obtain eight unique labels, able to amaze those who drink them for their uniqueness. Read more
