Description
Brut classic method sparkling wine from Lombardy, produced by Calatroni. 12.5% ABV, 100% Riesling. 0.75L bottle. A classic method born from the passion of the Calatroni family, which has been showcasing its estate-grown grapes since 1964. Since 2002, under the guidance of Cristian and Stefano, the third generation, they have increasingly focused on Pinot Noir, vinifying it as a red wine, but especially as a classic method sparkling white and rosé. Currently, approximately 100,000 bottles of this sparkling wine are produced, all bearing the DOCG Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico designation. Fruity with a distinct hint of freshly picked Rennet apples. Fine and persistent perlage. Round and enveloping, it displays great freshness and good persistence.

| Story | Pavia, Easter Eve 572. Alboin, king of the Lombards, succeeded in entering the city after three years of a harsh siege. The people of Pavia, fearing a ruthless revenge, tried to ingratiate themselves with the new ruler and offered him gold, jewels and 12 beautiful virgins. An old baker added a dove-shaped cake to the gifts, begging the king, given the imminence of Easter, to spare the people of Pavia and respect the doves, symbol of peace. The sovereign agreed to the strange request, but soon realised he had been tricked: when he started asking the maidens their names, they all said they were called Dove. Despite this, Alboin kept his word. |
