Description

Still organic red wine from Castel del Monte DOC in Puglia, 14.5% ABV, produced by Tenuta Bocca di Lupo. Blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. 0.75 L bottle, 2022 vintage. The name Locone is inspired by the lake of the same name, an artificial lake located in the Minervino Murge area. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were destemmed, gently pressed, and transferred to the vinification tanks, where alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of 26-28°C. Maceration was carried out by alternating punching down and brief pumping over, ensuring a gradual and balanced extraction that lasted about ten days. The nose offers pleasant fruity sensations of raspberry and berries, which combine with fresh hints of rosemary and mint and pleasant aromas of bitter cocoa and licorice. Bright purple color. On the palate it is soft, graceful, with enveloping tannins and characterised by a pleasant persistence, typical of grapes from the soils of this area.
