Description

The Trento Brut by Abate Nero is produced in one of the founding companies of the Trento DOC, whose logo it bears on its labels with pride and the desire to carry on the tradition of Italian sparkling wine. Founded in the 70s, the name Abate Nero recalls the figure of the abbot considered the “father”” of Champagne. It started with a group of friends, including Luciano Lunelli, one of Italy's most important winemakers who recently passed away, and who led Abate Nero to a success that has reached beyond the Triveneto area. With the attention and patience of the ancient abbots, the quality The quality of the wines it produces comes from over 40 years of artisanal production, and the utmost care is taken in every phase, from the choice of yeasts to the fermentation and aging times for the secondary fermentation, which are longer than for other sparkling wines.

Made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, the Abate Nero Trento Brut bears the Trento DOC mark on its label, and its winemaking process respects all the principles of the regulations established in 1993, the first Italian denomination reserved exclusively for the classic method. After the harvest and soft pressing of the grapes, the first fermentation takes place in steel, followed by the secondary fermentation and maturation on the yeasts for at least 18 months. The Abate Nero Trento Brut is characterized by its extraordinary balance and ease of pairing, as it is more sweet and less dry than the extra brut variant.

Abate Nero, whose name evokes the figure of the French abbot considered to be the ‘father’ of Champagne, was born in the early 1970s from the commitment of a few friends, including Luciano Lunelli, all linked to the agronomic and wine sector, determined to develop more and more singular, good, prestigious ‘bubbles’.

Patience is at home here, the wine rests on the lees for frothing much longer than usual. Don't be surprised, therefore, if you find dates on the label that date back a few decades. Every stage is manual, for direct control of every single bottle: only in this way does Abate Nero achieve its charm.
