According to ancient documents, the Slavcek farm was established back in 1769: still owned by the ancestors of the Vodopivec family, the farm is named Slavcek - nightingale - a name given to the presence of a multitude of nightingales in the vicinity. Today it is father Franc, wife Alenka and two sons Andrej and Tomaž who run the farm.
The land, mainly cultivated with wine, extends over 10-11 hectares and has vines: Ribolla gialla, Klarnica Malvasia, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Barbera, Refosco, Cabarnè Sauvignon, Muscat giallo, Rizling Italico. The vineyards lie on the edge of the hills, on a steep slope, whose soils have rocky and marly components, which give the wine a characteristic mineral flavour. Manual harvesting and the use of sulphur and copper in minimum doses are the basis for organic farming.
The heart of the company's philosophy lies in the optimal processing of the grapes, giving importance to the precision and wisdom typical of the ancestors, to achieve harmony and respect for the peculiarities of each wine. The most representative wines of the company are: Ribolla Gialla, Pinot Grigio, Klarnica, Barbera, Merlot and the classic method sparkling wine called Vitoria.
