Pliger (Kuenhof)

The 800 year-old Kuenhof is an ancient winery, which has been family-owned for 200 years. Since 1990, the grapes cultivated at the approximately 6 hectares of vine-growing area have been pressed and marketed by the family themselves. The steep terraces, located in the southeast direction, stretch over an altitude of between 550 and 700 m a.s.l. - ideal terrain for the excellent white wines of the Kuenhof. The basis for the cultivation of the terraced vineyards is a balanced symbiosis between humans, cultivated plants and nature. The four precious white wines produced here, Silvaner, Riesling, Veltliner and Gewuerztraminer, are created inside the historic and historically-protected cellars of the Kuenhof through use of natural yeasts. Therefore, the wines are characterized by their longevity and good digestibility.
