Mocali was purchased in the '50s by Dino Ciacci that was one of twenty-five promoters of the Consortium of Brunello di Montalcino, which has succeeded by his nephew, Tiziano Ciacci, the current owner. Mocali is located south-west of Montalcino at an altitude of 350/400 meters above sea level, comprises approximately 32 hectares of which 9.00 Ha of specialized vineyards (6 hectares of Sangiovese members Brunello di Montalcino) and 2 hectares of olive groves (Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo).
The farm is nestled in the hills surrounding the town of Montalcino, among vineyards and olive groves, alternating with woods of holm oak and arbutus. The soil is very rich in minerals for the presence of marl.
