Georges Roumier

The story begins in 1924, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Upon his marriage, Georges Roumier settled in the village of Chambolle-Musigny, renowned for the delicacy of its wines.

His in-laws then entrusted him with the keys to several vineyard plots, nestled in remarkable appellations: Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, Musigny Grand Cru, and Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru ‘Les Amoureuses’. Georges Roumier took the time to refine this vineyard. Year after year, he devoted himself entirely to his climats, seeking to express all their nuances. A pioneer, he even initiated bottling on the estate at a time when wine merchants dominated the industry.

When his son officially succeeded him in 1961, Domaine Georges Roumier had already earned its reputation. Jean-Marie Roumier in turn perpetuated this heritage and expanded it. Twenty years later, he was joined by his own son, Christophe, a graduate in oenology. Together, they bottled their entire harvest from the 1983 vintage onwards.

Since Jean-Marie's retirement in 1990, Christophe Roumier has continued the family adventure alongside his sister Delphine: an adventure closely linked to the land, where nothing is more important than the perfect expression of the terroir...
