It is the fruit of the union of two great winegrowing families: the Mann family, winegrowers since the beginning of the 17th century, and the Barthelmé family, the current owners, winegrowers since 1654.
In the heart of Alsace, our estate thrives in Wettolsheim, ideally situated in a region with an ancient wine-making tradition. It is thanks to the union of two Alsatian winegrowing families, the Mann and the Barthelmé, that the estate has perpetuated its history for several decades. Since then, men and women from different backgrounds have contributed the stones that have consolidated our estate over the years.
Since 1997, biodynamic farming has been an obvious choice for us. This culture requires a lot of work and more investment, giving the wine its own identity as well as a pure reflection of the terroir. Thanks to these biodynamic preparations, we encourage the organic life of the soil and the development of mycorrhizae present on the roots of the vine. So many factors that allow us to bring the quintessence of the terroir to the wine.
Moreover, by juggling ploughing and plant cover, we also manage to get the roots down deep to capture the minerals from the degradation of the mother rock.
