Description

The name “Solco" stands for the deep and ancient path that this wine has followed to respect the tradition striving for a rigorous quality. This wine represents a challenge. In fact, the vines grow in the highest and most impervious part of the vineyards, which can only be reached on foot, and it symbolises the desire to indicate a new vocation and trace out a new history for these lands. A great wine, obtained from a grape variety that is now obsolete with a strong intensity and a rich variety of fragrances and scents.

Valturio, a well-known winery founded in 2002 in the region of Montefeltro, owes its fame to having revived wine production in the area. The story of the Valturio winery is one of perseverance and passion: thanks to intensive land reclamation and the restoration of ancient terracing, it has been possible to plant vines such as Sangiovese, Alicante, Pinot Noir and Rebo, thus enhancing the territory. The logo, name and label of the Valturio wine are a tribute to the well-known scientist and scholar Roberto Valturio author of De Re Militari, a famous treatise on the art of war particularly appreciated by Leonardo da Vinci. The Valturio winery consists of 10 hectares of vineyards with an amphitheatre-like arrangement, located at an altitude of about 500 metres.Xtrawine devotes special attention to Valturio wines, offering bottles that have received major awards from Gambero Rosso and belong to the best vintages of 2012 and 2015.
