Description

What kind of wine it is

Barbaresco Ovello Riserva by Produttori del Barbaresco is a still red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes, a true expression of this renowned Piedmontese area. The bouquet opens with notes of rose, ripe cherry, liquorice and tobacco, enriched by hints of undergrowth and autumn leaves. On the palate, it reveals a full and structured character, supported by vibrant acidity and mature yet firm tannins that ensure excellent balance. Ideal paired with fresh egg pasta, risottos, red meats, game and aged cheeses, it expresses its persistence best after about an hour of decanting, served at a temperature between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius.

Where it comes from

This red is born in Piedmont, in the municipality of Barbaresco, coming exclusively from the renowned Ovello vineyard. The roots of the Nebbiolo vine delve into clay-limestone soil with sandy veins, a geological composition that gives the wine a clear profile and an extremely precise tannic structure. The approach of Produttori del Barbaresco values sustainable viticulture, carried out by families historically dedicated to this grape variety. The origin from a single plot ensures a marked expressive consistency, able to combine deep material richness with persistent harmony in every sip.

How it is produced

After the manual autumn harvest, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks for 24 days in contact with the skins, with frequent pump-overs to extract colour and substance. Once racking is complete, the wine matures for 36 months in large oak barrels, a fundamental step to soften the youthful structure and encourage aromatic complexity. A further period of ageing completes the production cycle before release to the market. This rigorous method guarantees extraordinary longevity, delivering a full-bodied red capable of evolving beautifully over time.
