Description

Still red Taurasi Riserva, 14% ABV, produced by Perillo in Campania. A wine that embodies the excellence of the Calore Valley, the fruit of a long family tradition in growing Aglianico. The Aglianico grapes are hand-harvested in November and meticulously vinified. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine ages in large Slovenian oak barrels for approximately 24 months, before being bottled unfiltered. On the nose, it progressively expresses power and complexity, revealing notes of ripe plum and cherry, balsamic notes of mint and resin, with mineral nuances of damp earth and graphite. On the palate, it is rich, warm, and enveloping, supported by a refreshing acidity and tannins that deliver volume and density.

Perillo Winery represents the winemaking excellence of the Calore Valley, built upon a long-standing family tradition of cultivating Aglianico grapes in Castelfranci and Montemarano. Since 1999, we have focused on the quality of our wines, born from resilient, high-altitude soils and characterized by a late yet consistent ripening.

Our vineyards, some of which are ungrafted, yield unique Aglianico grapes known locally as coda di cavallo ("horse’s tail"). From these exceptional raw materials come our prestigious Taurasi DOCG Riserva, Taurasi DOCG, and Irpinia Coda di Volpe DOC. Each wine reflects the essence of our land—from the complex notes of Taurasi, aged in wood without filtration, to the delicate freshness of Irpinia Coda di Volpe, perfect with fish dishes and vegetable-based first courses. Discover our wines and let yourself be captivated by the story and passion that make them truly one of a kind.
