In Monmarthe family everything begins in 1930. Ernest Monmarthe decides to launch his own champagne : Champagne Ernest Monmarthe. The production is very low and the agriculture is the main income of the family. Thanks to Leon Monmarthe and his wife Anne Marie, Champagne Monmarthe develops and the house is getting bigger. In 1960, the production reaches 60,000 bottles.
When Guy Monmarthe arrives in the company, it is the beginning of a period of modernization and commercial development. In 1990, Jean-Guy arrives in the estate to rule it with his father. It also marks the arrival of new tanks and the market opens to export market.
Today the house is run by Jean-Guy Monmarthe, the 6th generation. Read more
