Description
What type of wine it is
The Riviera Ligure di Ponente Pigato Terreferme by Lunae is a still white wine that expresses the most authentic characteristics of the Pigato grape variety. On the nose, it opens with a bouquet of white flowers, Mediterranean scrub and yellow-fleshed fruit. On the palate, it is fresh and dynamic, with lively notes of apple that fade into a finish characterised by delicate hints of almond. The balance of the sip, supported by a strong sapidity, makes it ideal for pairing with shellfish, fried seafood and fresh cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in the territory of the Colli di Luni, south of the Magra river, on the border between Liguria and Tuscany. The vineyards stretch between Castelnuovo Magra and Ortonovo, benefiting from a coastal climate that gives the wine great aromatic clarity. The vines grow on soils rich in clay and stony skeleton, elements that define the typical sapidity of the sip. In these lands, viticulture boasts ancient roots that today outline the identity of the Riviera Ligure di Ponente.
How it is produced
The vinification aims to preserve the integrity of the Pigato through fermentation at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. The wine then matures briefly in the same containers before being marketed. The choice to exclude the use of barrels is intentional, to maintain a linear structure and great expressive clarity. This process enhances the floral and fruity traits of the grape, highlighting the freshness and the distinctive mineral character of the territory.
History and curiosities
Pigato Terreferme by Lunae Bosoni evokes the thousand-year history of Liguria, paying tribute to a viticulture that has its roots in the Etruscan era. Born from Paolo Bosoni's passion among the vineyards of the Colli di Luni, situated between Castelnuovo Magra and Ortonovo on the border with Tuscany, this wine embodies the essence of an exceptional territory. The company skilfully blends ancient traditions and modern innovation, operating in full respect of sustainability. An elegant label, capable of telling the authentic identity of the Western Ligurian Riviera (Riviera di Ponente).

Cantine Lunae deepen their roots in the millenary hystory of this land and people, whose great vine-growing and wine-making tradition have inherited. Etruscans, or perhaps Ligures and then Romans, were the first to grow vineyards in the surroundings of the beautiful Luni, the "Moon City".
These lands have given birth to our vineyards, to our passion, to our wine!
