Perfume The aromatic bouquet is very broad but the tone that characterises it is undoubtedly brackish, I would say sea air, very impressive. Very mineral and earthy, with bursts of citrus notes, just spicy.
Taste On the palate it is full-bodied, savoury and oily, flanking the distinct salty tones with black pepper, but also sweet tones such as liquorice, vanilla, caramelised grapes. The fairly long finish is all about burnt wood and vanilla tones.

Description

Scotch Whisky, 8 years old, produced by Lagavulin in Scotland. 0.70 l bottle. A whisky that embodies the soul of the island of Islay, with its unmistakable peaty and smoky character. The aromatic bouquet is very broad, but the defining note is undoubtedly salty, I'd say sea air, truly impressive. Very mineral and earthy, with hints of citrus notes, slightly spicy. On the palate, it is full-bodied, savory, and oily, combining salty notes, especially black pepper, with sweet notes of licorice, vanilla, and caramelized grapes. The discreetly long finish is all about notes of burnt wood and vanilla.

From this winery
Lagavulin Distillery is located in the bay of the same name on the south coast of Islay Island, in Port Ellen, within a picturesque group of buildings. In 1816, the distillery John Johnston founded the first legal distillery near the Castle of Dunyvaig Castle. The following year, Archibald Campbell founded a second distillery, probably called Ardmore. After Johnston's death, a Glasgow merchant, Graham, bought Lagavulin, then joined the two distilleries.

His successors, James Logan Mackie & Co., brought the company forward, opening new distilleries. Lagavulin produces whiskeys, all single malts, the most pale of all Islay Island, for many are considered the very essence of the island
