Description
Still red, 13.5% ABV, produced by J. Hofstatter, a renowned winery in Trentino-Alto Adige. Pinot Noir Vigna Herbsthofl, 2022 vintage. A wine that embodies the excellence of Pinot Noir, grown in vineyards of glacial origin. Vinification follows the traditional method, with fermentation in cement, a year in barrique, and another year in large barrels before continuing to age in bottle. Initially a bit closed on the nose, it opens up revealing aromas of black cherry and raspberry, enriched by a delicate note of vanilla and spice. Dark ruby color. On the palate, it displays excellent harmony with elegant acidity, well-integrated sweet tannins, and a tremendous concentration of aromas.

| Story | The Barthenau Vigna Herbsthöfl Pinot Nero is made exclusively from grapes of the vineyard of the same name, the result of a mass selection from the Vigna Roccolo, the oldest Pinot Nero vineyard in South Tyrol (trained on the pergola and planted in 1942). The Herbsthöfl Vineyard lies on limestone-sandy soils of glacial origin, at an altitude of between 430 and 460 metres, in the northernmost part of the famous Mazon plateau where our winery has contributed to writing the history of South Tyrolean Pinot Noir. Thanks to its special terroir, the Barthenau Vigna Herbsthöfl Pinot Noir is characterised by finesse and unique varietal characteristics. |
