Description

Organic still red Terre Siciliane IGT, 14% ABV, produced by Gulfi. 100% Nero d'Avola. 0.75 L bottle, 2019 vintage. A Nero d'Avola born from the passion of Vito Catania, who launched this project in 1996 to promote the great Nero d'Avola crus in the Val di Noto. The grapes, harvested after mid-September, are transformed into red wine with a long maceration of the must with the skins. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is racked into small 500- and 225-liter barrels where it ages for approximately 24 months. Bottling is followed by a period of bottle aging for approximately two years. It offers balsamic sensations of eucalyptus, mint, and aromatic herbs, hints of red flowers, face powder, lavender, crisp blackberries and cassis, undergrowth, licorice root, and subtle mineral notes. Ruby red. Of great structure, warm on the palate, it has a good fresh and savoury backbone with dense and slightly rough tannins, good persistence with fruity returns.
