Description

What kind of wine it is

Aurea Gran Rosé is a refined and structured rosé from Tuscany, crafted by Frescobaldi. This blend is born from the meeting of Syrah and Vermentino, offering a pronounced mineral character. The bouquet is deep, characterised by fresh fruit aromas and floral nuances that precede hints of ripe red berries. On the palate, it is velvety and juicy, enriched by spicy and sweet notes that define its character. The pronounced savouriness balances the tasting experience, leading to a long and complex finish.

Where it comes from

The roots of this wine lie in the heart of the Maremma, among the hills of the Tenuta Ammiraglia that border the Tyrrhenian coast. The proximity to the sea and the constant sea breeze define the distinctive character of the area. The clay-limestone soils impart a flavour profile to the wine where minerality takes centre stage, well supported by elegant acidity. This precise territorial identity is enhanced by agricultural practices usually reserved for white grape varieties, which are also applied to Syrah in this case, with constant attention to environmental protection.

How it is produced

Production begins with a rigorous selection of bunches, hand-picked during the coolest hours of the day. This is followed by a very gentle pressing of whole bunches, carried out in the absence of oxygen to preserve the aromas. The musts are clarified for at least twelve hours to remove vegetal components, then fermentation begins at a controlled temperature in medium-toast French oak barrels. After creating the blend, the wine matures through ageing on fine lees for eight months. The final structure is completed thanks to the addition of a reserve of Syrah vinified as a white and matured for twenty months in wooden barrels, which further enhances its persistence.

History and Curiosities

Born from an intuition of Lamberto Frescobaldi among the rows of Tenuta Ammiraglia, Aurea Gran Rosé encapsulates the essence of the Maremma caressed by the sea breeze. This prestigious wine is created through meticulous white vinification of Syrah and Vermentino, demonstrating absolute artisanal care. Its elegance is enhanced by the addition of a Syrah reserve, aged for twenty months in small oak barrels, which enriches its maturation on fine lees. A multi-award-winning masterpiece, celebrated by Bibenda, Veronelli and Luca Maroni.
