Description
A still, dry red wine produced by Frank Cornelissen, a pioneer of Etna in Sicily. Vintage 2021, 15% ABV, 100% Nerello Mascalese. A wine that expresses the volcanic soul of Etna, with a natural and respectful approach to the land. The winery was founded in 2001, when Etna was still unknown as a wine-growing area. Our vineyards are located in the northern valley of the active volcano Etna, in eastern Sicily. Destemming and light pressing of the grapes. Fermentation: starting with a pied-de-cuve of only indigenous yeasts and contact with the skins for approximately 50 days. Aged in neutral fiberglass tanks holding 1200 to 2500 liters for 18 months, followed by an additional 18 months in bottle.

Our farming philosophy is based on our acceptance of the fact that man will never be able to understand nature’s full complexity and interactions. We therefore choose to concentrate on observing and learning the movements of Mother Earth in her various energetic and cosmic passages and prefer to follow her indications as to what to do, instead of deciding and imposing ourselves.
