Still red from the Rhône, France, 15% ABV, produced by Domaine de la Janasse. 100% Grenache. 1.5L magnum, 2021 vintage. A Châteauneuf-du-Pape that embodies the elegance and power of Grenache, a wine born from the passion of a family that has cultivated the vine for generations with love and respect for the land. Manual harvest. Maceration for 26 days and manual pressing once a day. Aged 2/3 in large barrels and 1/3 in 600-liter barrels. Notes of small black fruits and violets blend into a velvety and persistent finish. A wine that pairs perfectly with red meats, game, and aged cheeses.

Due to its fragmented structure -more than sixty plots- the area of La Janasse covers a mosaic of terroirs. Thorough research on soil, exposure and microclimates helped to ideally organize the vineyard. White varieties and syrahs were preferably planted on sandy limestones, exposed eastward of the appellation in order to preserve freshness, acidity and fineness. Mourvedres were planted on clay-limestone soils covered with river rocks so as to reach perfect maturity. Read more
