Description

Founded in 1976 under the name Franciacorta Pinot, it represents our first step into the world of Franciacorta wines. In 1991, under the name Franciacorta Brut N.V., it took on a style that was increasingly recognisable and faithful to the terroir. In 2005, after more than 30 years of research and dedication, it became Cuvée Prestige and acquired its own well-defined identity. After a constant reduction in dosage at disgorgement to enhance the characteristics of the grapes of origin, with the 2017 vintage it is enriched with the attribute Edition, to allow the different nuances of each interpretation to be fixed in the tasting memory.

Ca' del Bosco is the mainstay of the Franciacorta terroir. The Ca' del Bosco wineries were founded in the mid-1960s by Annamaria Clementi Zanella, who bought a modest house of the same name in Erbusco, which was endowed with vineyards and woods. However, her son, Maurizio Zanella, started wine production, enhancing the terroir's characteristics and transforming that small house into one of Italy's most productive wineries. In fact, these cellars are distinguished for producing the famousCa' del Bosco sparkling wine, which is characterised by its elegant yet strong personality given by intense, juicy aromas and fullness of flavour. Today Ca' del Bosco is a well-established business, producing numerous labels, including still wines, both red and white, and Franciacorta for which Xtrawine has reserved a place of honour. You can choose from bottles of the best vintages from 2008 with an ageing capacity of between 15 and 25 years that will bring out the best in all your dishes: from pasta to fish and shellfish to dessert, the fruity notes will envelop your palate with every sip. Harvest The grapes, harvested by hand in small crates, are graded and cooled. Each bunch is selected by expert eyes and hands, and then benefits from exclusive "grape spa": a special system for washing and hydromassage of the bunches consisting of three soaking tubs and a drying tunnel.
Wine making After crushing in the absence of oxygen, all the musts of the base wines ferment in thermo-conditioned steel tanks and remain there until the following March. Seven months of ageing are then necessary for the wine to clarify, mature and bring out the character of the original vineyards to the full. The wines are then skilfully blended in the 'magic rite' of cuvée creation. Only after ageing on the lees for a minimum of 2 years can this Franciacorta express all its richness and identity. Dégorgement takes place in the absence of oxygen, using a unique system designed and patented by Ca' del Bosco. This avoids oxidative shocks and further additions of sulphites. It makes our Franciacorta wines purer, more pleasant and longer-lived. Finally, each packaged bottle is uniquely marked to guarantee traceability.
