Description
What kind of wine it is
Barbaresco Rabajà by Bruno Giacosa, made from Nebbiolo grapes, is a still red wine that stands out for its pronounced character. In the glass, it displays a ruby red colour with garnet hues, a prelude to a multifaceted bouquet where notes of cherry, dog rose and violet emerge. The aroma is enriched by clear balsamic nuances, with hints of liquorice and delicate menthol undertones. On the palate, it reveals a full and imposing sip, supported by a finely chiselled tannic structure and a balance between freshness and savouriness, with a persistent finish.
Where it comes from
This intense red originates in Piedmont, within the renowned Cru Rabajà, an area with a deep historical vocation linked to the Barbaresco denomination. The precise location of these old vines gives the wine unmistakable characteristics, faithfully reflecting the peculiarities of its native terroir. Belonging to this specific hillside ensures a strong geographical identity, guaranteeing the synthesis of the structure and elegance typical of the region and supporting a harmonious interplay of floral and fruity aromas.
How it is produced
The production process involves careful maturation in large wooden casks for about eighteen months. This essential stage integrates the structure and smooths the tannins, preparing the flavour profile for a subsequent rest in the bottle for about a year. This final period ensures the full stability of the aromatic profile and impeccable flavour harmony. To allow it to express its full potential, it is recommended to decant for one hour before serving.
