Description
What kind of wine it is
Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto is a still red wine that precisely expresses the identity of Barolo. Made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, it stands out for its broad and elegant aromatic profile, characterised by notes of rose, ripe fruit, truffle and spices. On the palate, it offers a dry and velvety sip, revealing itself as full, harmonious and generous. This solid structure ensures an ageing potential of between fifteen and twenty-five years, allowing the wine to evolve magnificently over time. It is the ideal choice to accompany dishes with intense flavours, such as red meats, stews, game and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
The grapes destined for this label are grown in the renowned Falletto vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba, in the heart of Piedmont. The rows benefit from a favourable south and south-east exposure, protected by an amphitheatre-like microclimate that encourages the perfect ripening of the bunches. These unique soil and climate conditions, combined with low yields, give the wine remarkable intensity and a well-defined structure. Bruno Giacosa follows strict agronomic practices designed to enhance the natural qualities of this hilly terroir, tending the vines with the utmost care.
How it is produced
Vinification involves an extremely rigorous selection, leading the winery to produce this label only in the best vintages to maintain the highest quality standards. Once fermentation is complete, the wine undergoes a long ageing in large French oak barrels for thirty months, allowing the tannins to integrate elegantly into the structure. This is followed by a twelve-month rest before release, which is essential to stabilise its deep garnet red colour. To fully enjoy every aromatic nuance, it is recommended to decant for one hour, serving the wine at a temperature between eighteen and twenty degrees.
