From this winery
Bodegas El Paraguas is the project of Marcial Pita and Felicisimo Pereira. Marcial Pita, born in 1977, already boasts a consolidated experience in the sector, member since 1999 of Union Espanola. Catadores, in 2006 consecrated himself as a talented "bodeguero" following the production of a successful red wine called El Linze. Felicisimo Pereira, born in 1965, and Galician doc (originally from Ribadavia) can be considered one of the most important connoisseurs of the wines of DO Ribero.

From the union of talent, passion and bond with this land (Marcial is originally from
Ferrol) the Bodegas El Paraguas project was born. Vineyard and cellar are both located in the municipality of Ribadavia, by most considered the cradle of choice of this small DO and I'm a big fan of it. La Cabrita is the name of the property's vineyard plot that extends over an area of 1.25 hectares, at altitudes between 80 and 225 meters above sea level. The Soil composition is sandy matrix over a granite substrate.

Geographically speaking we are at the confluence of two rivers, the Rio Avia il Miño, in a point where the influence of the Atlantic is "mitigated" by the continental influence and vice versa. Soil and climate conditions that give a unique typicality to the wines of this territory, in this case conceived following a style as traditional as possible but at the same time modern, thanks to the implementation of small technological devices in the winemaking phase. A guarantee of naturalness of the products and respect for the identity of the terroir in the cellar, as well as the ex-garage of Felicisimo, spontaneous fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts.
