Description
Type of wine
Champagne Le Rosé Extra Brut by Billecart-Salmon is a captivating rosé wine born from a skilful blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. Originating from the renowned Champagne region in France, this Champagne stands out for its elegant and indulgent character. Produced using the Traditional Method, it offers a refined aromatic profile, characterised by notes of red fruits and citrus, with a lively palate and a fresh finish with hints of raspberry. Its structure makes it a perfect pairing for bold experiences, such as slow tasting with tobacco or fine cigars.
Where it comes from
This exceptional Champagne originates from the prestigious Champagne area in France, with a special connection to the Premier Cru of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. The grapes come from excellent terroirs, carefully selected from the finest parcels of the Vallée de la Marne, the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. This combination of various origins bestows a unique complexity upon the wine.
How it is produced
The production of this cuvée strictly follows the Traditional Method. Vinification takes place by combining traditional methods in small oak barrels with modern techniques, such as low-temperature fermentation and the use of stainless steel. The Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are vinified as red wine. The process involves complete malolactic fermentation and the inclusion of reserve wines. A distinctive element is the addition of still Pinot Noir before disgorgement. The ageing process continues for 36 months on the lees, giving the wine extraordinary finesse.
