Description
For all the inhabitants of Castagnole Monferrato, Ruchè is considered the wine of the parish priest. In fact, Don Cauda was the father of modern Ruchè, a native grape cultivated over the centuries for small productions of sweet wines until he began to cultivate a modern vineyard and spread it as a classic red wine. Genetic similarities have been attributed to it with Primitivo, Zinfandel and other wines with which it shares an unusual aromatic heritage, but Ruchè is simply original and unique. It is a fragrant, dry wine with sweet, light tannins, moderate acidity and good alcoholic strength. It can only be produced in seven municipalities of Monferrato: too few in quantity to be a world wine, it is available to those seeking something authentic but unusual for contemporary cuisine.
