Nantou Distillery

Located in Nantou Hsien, Taiwan, the Nantou Distillery was founded in 1978 by the Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation, a tobacco and alcohol producer owned by the State of Taiwan; however, although, since then, the distillery has been known to produce spirits, only in 2008 was the first Whisky signed Nantou Distillery released. Nantou Distillery is located, more precisely, in the mountains of Taiwan and is fed by fresh spring water; its subtropical climate typically translates into fast-ripening whisky. Its well-known line ""Omar"", a Gaelic term for amber, was designed to offer an alternative to Kavalan products, a company that has always dominated the Taiwanese market with its whiskies.
