Monkey Shoulder

Monkey Shoulder takes its name from the habit of pointing to maltmen, those who turn barley into malt. In the past the long shifts and working conditions led the maltmen to hold the arm used for melting a little dangling, just like the monkeys.

The working conditions have changed a lot and injury has been handed over to the past: today, the name Monkey Shoulder is just a tedious tribute to honoring the hard and past labor of the maltmen of the distillery, among the few remaining to handle barley manually .
