I vini Lugana DOC possono essere ottenuti dalle uve del vitigno Trebbiano di Soave localmente chiamato anche Turbiana o Trebbiano di Lugana fino al 90%; per il restante 10% è possibile utilizzare altri vitigni a bacca bianca coltivati nella zona di Verona e limitrofe.

Composition of land | I terreni sono fertili di origine morenica e di natura sedimentaria, prevalentemente argiolloso-calarei e su alcuni punti collinari sabbiosi. Non è una terra facile da lavorare in quanto in periodi sicitosi diventa molto dura e compatta e quando piove diventa fangosa. Queste caratteristiche pero' contribuiscono ad aricchire il vino con profumi di mandorla e agrumi, una ottima sapidità e una struttura equilibrata. |
History | La zona del Lugana DOC in un remoto passato era un antica foresta acquitrinosa detta "Selva Lucana, che fù bonificata nel quattrocento dalla Repubblica Serenissima. Le prime tracce della vite in queste zone risale a tempi ancora più antichi, sono stati infatti ritrovati dei vinaccioli (semi) di Vitis Silvestris risalenti adirittura al 3000 A.C. |
Production area | La zona di produzione del Lugana DOC si trova in una delle zone più turistiche e belle d'Italia nella parte sud del Lago di Garda. Al confine tra due regioni, il Veneto e la Lombardia e più precisamente in tutto il comune di Sirmione (BS) e parzialmente nei comuni di Desenzano del Garda (BS), Lonato del Garda (BS), Pozzolengo (BS) e Peschiera del Garda (VR). |

Vineyards location | La zona della DOC è prevalentemente pianeggiante ed è positivamente influenzata dal Lago di Garda che rende il clima più mite e senza grossi sbalzi termici. Inoltre in queste zone c'è la presenza quasi costante di un leggero vento proveniente da nord che contribuisce alla produzione di uve sane. |
