Description

Milder and sweeter than the famous Green Chartreuse, Yellow Chartreuse was introduced to the world in 1840. It also is presented in the traditional Chartreuse liqueur bottle embossed with the seal of La Grande Chartreuse. Its colour is entirely natural with no artificial flavours or preservatives. It, too, can be enjoyed neat or in a long drink.

From this winery
  • Start up year: 1605
130 herbs, flowers and spices in different dosages and formulas make it possible to make two of the oldest liqueurs in the world: the yellow and green Chartreuse. Two monks of the Carthusian order are the only holders of the secret of production, 100% concentrated near Voiron in the French Alps. All the distillery's liqueurs are aged in large casks and, in the case of the VEPs, in small casks.

Entering the cellars and the Chartreuse distillery is like going back in time: only natural raw materials, distillation and infusion processes, no preservatives or colouring agents, ageing for more than three years in wood, selection of the best ageing methods to become VEP, recipe and monastic production, the link with the land, the French Alps.
