Description
Style of Langa. Between the Dolcetto vine and the Langa hills there is a pact that has lasted for centuries. Not only because the vine was born on these hills to the right of the Tanaro river. Above all, because of the strong bond that has been woven over time between this vine and its wine and the people who live in these areas. If it is usual to look at the hills and trace on their ridges the rows of Dolcetto well characterised in the various seasons of the year, equally usual is to observe the table of these houses and find in their glasses the youthful and fragrant colours and scents of Dolcetto. youthful and fragrant aromas of Dolcetto d'Alba.
Immediate fragrance. As many as eleven are the vineyards of Dolcetto that we cultivate on the highest hills of Barolo: these are ‘white lands’, with a strong limestone imprint, with locations
challenging terrain and altitudes that often exceed 350-400 metres above sea level. Year after year, we work these vineyards with passion and in the heart of September we harvest their grapes well ripened. After separate vinification, we select the best batches to create a blend wine according to the tradition of the Langa. The bottle crowns the quality and gives a young, fragrant wine that gladdens the table with the same authoritativeness everyday and festive table with equal authority.

Sandrone’s Barolos are sometimes described as straddling the modern and traditional styles in the region: elegant, attractive and easy to appreciate right from their first years in bottle, but with no less power and structure than traditional Barolos. Along with the extremely low yields in the vineyard, Sandrone has a very rational approach in the cellar. This approach, however, is also unique and outside of simple classification, as Sandrone subjects his wines to a relatively short maceration period, does not use rotary fermenters, and makes limited use of new oak in the maturation process, all signs of a traditional approach in the cellar.
The new winery, built in 1998 at the foot of the steep Cannubi hillside in the heart of the Barolo district, is characterized by the respect for tradition and desire for innovation that also define Sandrone wines.
