This excellent white is created to capture the finest expression of our terraced vineyards “ronchi” in the Friuli Colli Orientali. A delicious blend of three native varieties: Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and Picolit. It yields a rich well-balanced wine with a distinctive aroma and with a long finish, reflecting the region’s character of unmistakable minerality.

History The Novecento Bianco, is dedicated to the anniversary of the signing of the Papal Bull “PIE POSTULATIO VOLUNTATIS” in 1113 by Pope Paschal II, in which the Pope formally recognized the establishment of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and placed it under the direct protection of the Holy See. In recognition of this 900 year-old tradition of noble and honorable service, this special wine is made every year by Rocca Bernarda.

Harvest Hand harvested at the end of September.
Vinification The grapes are hand harvested in the oldest vineyards of the estate and vinified separately. Gentle pressing yields a low grape to wine ratio of 50%. The fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, and is followed by 6 months resting on lees. The Ribolla Gialla is left to ferment on skins for a brief maceration Blending is done just before bottling with the addition of 1% Picolit to add structure and complexity.
