Almost one hundred years have now passed since the day Bepi Zardetto lost his cart, horses and entire load of barrels during the retreat from Caporetto, on the Italian front of the First World War. 100 years that have seen a family trace its history along a straight, continuous line, marked by the work and passion of its members.
Between the silver medal that awarded Ernesto Zardetto in 1934 in the category of Vini Dolci (or, as he called them, vin da botìglia) and the affirmation of Prosecco Zardetto on the international market and on tables all over the world, there is only the long fruitful path of the same, extraordinary dedication to wine-making that the Zardettos have handed down from father to son.
After Bepi, Ernesto and Pino, silent protagonists of an uninterrupted history, it was Fabio's turn, sole owner since 1998, to give new energy to the company. A firm believer in the need to dedicate himself exclusively to the specialised production of Prosecco Spumante, in 2002 he started work on the construction of the new cellar, equipped with state-of-the-art technology. His constant search for excellence is thus translated into a great impulse for the modernisation of sparkling wine techniques, the optimal organisation of production and constructive collaboration with his trusted winegrowers in the most suitable vineyards.
Fabio Zardetto, a careful selector of grapes and great connoisseur of the terroirs of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, firmly wants his wines to be an expression of the different specificities of the individual vineyards, the fruit of his personal research and love for his land.
