“Madonna Nera” is the ancient name of this hilly terrain, set in enchanted landscape where nature and art are allied with the incredible mastery that is the special mark of Tuscany.
Today this place hosts a recently established vineyard inspired by deep respect for the traditions of this land and an entrepreneurial enthusiasm that has the courage to try out what is new. The vineyard extends on 4.7 hectares and contains rows of vines, each one headed by a rose bush, according to a local vine-growing custom.
The rest of the estate is a mixture of olive trees and typical Mediterranean vegetation. Amidst the green myrtle, white roses and blue lavender, are three buildings in honey-coloured local stone.
There is the owner’s home alongside an ancient tower that for centuries has kept guard over the northwest part of the property, and a guest annex with a large terrace, a wine bar and reception area. Beneath this building is the heart of the vineyard – the “cantina” or wine-cellar, combining tradition and innovation.
