La Crotta di Vegneron is a story of men deeply rooted in this wonderful Alpine region. Generations of skilled "Viticulteurs" has always been committed to achieving the highest quality from our vineyards and our slopes.
La Crotta di Vegneron continues the tradition of ancestral "campagnards" looking in the ancient relationship between native vines and territory; his is its strong point. Traditional grape varieties grown with pride and ability, respectful vinification of a terroir with a thousand variations mean that the wines express strongly the spirit of our mountains. Our cellar is a Chambave, a small village in the Aosta Valley, bordered to the west by France and north Switzerland.
La Crotta di Vegneron was founded in 1980 with about 25 members who become 80 in 1985. Today, with more than 100 members produce 300,000 bottles annually. The cooperative collects the grapes of two major production areas that give the name of the designation of origin Chambave (which also includes the towns of Châtillon, Saint Vincent, Saint Denis and Verrayes) and Nus (which also includes the towns of Quart and fenis) . The wineries that are part of the cooperative often manage smaller properties, over an area where it is complex to implement a rational mechanization of the vineyard, with very high operating costs.
