The principle activity Agricola Conte Umberto Emo Capodilista "La Montecchia" is viticulture, already begun in the Middle Ages. Petrarch himself appreciated the local vintage, much to his home at Arquà at the southern part of the Hills euganei. The current owner, Count Umberto Emo Capodilista, began to renovate the vineyards and wineries in the early 90s, making his son Giordano Emo to direct the whole company assisted Andrea Boaretti oenologist and agronomist Patrizio Gasparinetti.
The numerous awards and recognition from the most notable wine critics like Robert Parker, Luca Maroni, Gambero Rosso and Veronelli have encouraged Giordano Emo to continue along this path. About half of the production is exported abroad.
