Description

What kind of wine it is

The Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Grand Bouquet Chouilly is a Traditional Method sparkling wine with a strong sense of place. It displays a straw yellow colour with greenish highlights, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it reveals pleasant fruity and floral notes, followed by clear citrus hints. On the palate, it is creamy and satisfying, balanced by a freshness that leads to a savoury finish. Its elegant structure makes it ideal for pairing with oysters, delicate starters, fish dishes and fresh cheeses.

Where it comes from

This Champagne is produced in Chouilly, in the heart of the Champagne region, in an area classified as Grand Cru. The term Blanc de Blancs indicates that Chardonnay is the only grape variety used, faithfully expressing the unique characteristics of the local soil. Vazart-Coquart manages the vineyards with a sustainable approach, certified as High Environmental Value. This careful vineyard management ensures a well-defined geographical identity, giving the wine precision, vibrant freshness and a pronounced mineral character.

How it is produced

The wine is produced using the Traditional Method, with secondary fermentation in the bottle. Vazart-Coquart vinifies exclusively in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, preserving aromatic clarity and natural flavour tension. The choice of Extra Brut dosage maintains a dry and essential structure, enhancing the purity of the sip and ensuring a savoury progression with great persistence. The result is a glass with an impeccable technical profile and remarkable expressiveness.

History and Curiosities

The 2018 vintage of Champagne Grand Cru Vazart-Coquart embodies the elegance of Chouilly through a radiant Blanc de Blancs made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. Under the guidance of oenologist Jean-Pierre Vazart, the production of this Traditional Method wine combines excellence and sustainability, as evidenced by the HVE (High Environmental Value) certification. Awarded 92 points by James Suckling, this refined Extra Brut is vinified in steel to enhance the authentic character of the region, offering a fresh, creamy sip with vibrant persistence.

The extraordinary creaminess of this Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut makes it the ideal companion to enhance oysters and fresh cheeses. Thanks to a savoury and almost saline palate, it elegantly accompanies delicate starters and refined lean fish dishes. Its lively freshness and great persistence also pair perfectly with soft cheeses.
