This is a single-malt Scotch whisky produced by the Macallan Distillery in the Speyside region. The Scottish distillery is world-famous for its products, which rest peacefully for a very long time before being enjoyed. The most expensive products are aged for up to 25 and 30 years. Originally, the spirit was matured only in oak barrels from the Jerez de la Frontera area of Spain. Since 2004, a new system has been introduced that involves aging in oak barrels used for bourbon. This product, called Fine Oak, is made using a particular combination of both Spanish and American oak barrels, previously used primarily to produce sherry. The long aging process in wood, imbued with the aromas of fortified wine, gives it unique characteristics of smoothness and delicacy. Meccallan Whisky is perhaps the most famous Scottish spirit in the world. For an expert, it is unmistakable both for its color, a bright and natural golden hue, and for the aromas it releases on the palate of sweet tobacco, ripe fruit, and dark chocolate. Founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, a farmer in the area under the name of Elchies Distillery, Macallan goes hand in hand until 1892 when, Roderick Kemp, a Elgin wine merchant and former Talisker distiller, acquires it extends and changes its name to Macallan-Glenlivet (the Glenlivet suffix was removed in 1980).

Kemp is able to expand the distillery continuously on the market with excellent results. Situated on the western shore of the Spey River, near the city of Aberlour, the estate occupies 158 hectares, of which 37 are cultivated with barley.

In the mid-twentieth century, the distillery knows a long phase of modernization due to the growing and growing demand for the market, leading to being the third single malt producer with more than 500,000 crates a year. Read more
