Description
Pierangelo Piccini's ingenious approach to viticulture led him to identify the potential of the Maremma, characteristics that subsequently established it as one of Italy's finest wine-producing areas. When Mario Piccini realised the far-sightedness of his father's thoughts, he decided to dedicate a selection of the estate's finest vineyards to him, creating a powerful and elegant wine. The best sections of Tenuta Moraia's vineyards have been completely in Perpiero's production since 2014.

Aging | Frequent pressing ensures intense colour extraction, complexity and soft tannins. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is racked into the barrique cellar. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are matured in modern French oak barriques, while the Sangiovese is aged in 15 hl barrels. After 12 months, our team of winemakers makes the final blend. The wine thus blended can finish its ageing in second-passage French barriques, where it remains for a further year. Once bottled, Perpiero rests in the bottle for 4 months before being released on the market. |
