Description
A small but fierce distillery, Saint Lucia Distiller, has created an innovative and versatile rum, the St. Lucia Rum Chairman's Reserve. We are in the small but lush Roseau Valley, on the island of Saint Lucia, a small Caribbean jewel nestled between Barbados and the islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The morphology of the land is typical of an earthly paradise: crystalline sea and hills. The union of these two elements creates an ideal terroir and climate for the production of some of the finest rums in the world. The St. Lucia Rum Chairman's Reserve was born in 1999 thanks to the happy intuition of the then President of the company Laurie Barnard: to create a blend of young and aged rums. Thus was born a unique product that quickly transcended the local Caribbean island to achieve prestigious international recognition, such as the gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. After fermentation, the rum is distilled using various types of stills: modern column stills and traditional pot stills. Aging takes place separately in American oak barrels that have previously held three of the most prestigious bourbon whiskies: Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam, and Jack Daniel's. The long maturation concludes after five years with the rums being blended and aged in oak barrels for another six months.
