Description
Made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, selected bunch by bunch from the best vineyards, with yield limited to about 1 kg per plant, often harvested beyond the usual levels of ripeness. It is a wine for long ageing, a strong expression of the soils of San Giusto a Rentennano.

| Soil composition | Most of the vineyards destined for the production of Percarlo are located on soils of Pliocene origin, formed by layers of sand and pebbles (tufa) from 2 to 5 metres deep, below which are banks of clay. To a lesser extent, they are located on marl and alberese soils, on the south-west side of the estate; the vineyards of 'Corsignano', near Monti in Chianti, are instead located on decidedly more clayey soils. |
