Description
Giallo d'Arles is an extreme and rigorous interpretation of Greco di Tufo. It is produced exclusively with grapes from a single Greco vineyard. Its antique yellow-gold colour, typical of the appellation, is rendered even more intense by the brief period of fermentation in small oak barrels and the complete absence of clarification. It is a white wine with a red, powerful, refined structure, characterised by a deep minerality fused with notes of apricot and quince jam and a full and fresh taste. It also has an extraordinary aptitude for bottle ageing, gaining in elegance, complexity and harmony as the years pass. The name given to the wine is a tribute to Van Gogh's favourite colour during his time in Arles: a yellow prelude to red.
