Description
What kind of wine it is
The Champagne Invitation Extra Brut by Hure Freres is a sparkling wine produced using the Traditional Method, an authentic expression of the Montagne de Reims terroir. This wine is created from a harmonious blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. On the nose, distinct notes of ripe fruit and toasted bread emerge, enriched by delicate hints of plum and cherry. On the palate, it is supple, offering a balanced and captivating sip. Its vibrant structure and remarkable clarity make it the ideal pairing to enhance refined starters, dishes based on shellfish, white fish and cheeses.
Where it comes from
The origin of this sparkling wine is deeply rooted in the Montagne de Reims, particularly in the communes of Ludes and Villedommange, in the heart of the Champagne region. Hure Freres is a family-run estate founded just over fifty years ago, whose philosophy revolves around showcasing the different plots. Through meticulous grape selection, the winery is able to best express the soils of origin, ensuring a precise identity and innate elegance. This artisanal care translates into remarkable structural complexity, capable of ensuring a longevity of 5-10 years.
How it is produced
The production follows the rules of the Traditional Method, involving a second fermentation in the bottle. After blending the base wines, the cuvée undergoes 30-36 months of ageing on the lees, an essential step to enhance aromatic complexity. This wine stands out for its Extra Brut dosage, with a residual sugar content that ensures a taut and dry flavour profile. The rigorous production approach delivers a balanced sip, capable of fully expressing its qualities when tasted at a serving temperature of 6-8°C.
