Description
What kind of wine it is
Vigne Alto Adige Lagrein is a still red wine that elegantly expresses the identity of Alto Adige Lagrein. Made from Lagrein grapes, it stands out for its deep garnet red colour. The aromatic profile opens with notes of violet and wild berries, evolving towards hints of chocolate and spices. On the palate, it is robust and expressive, characterised by a well-structured texture. Decanting for about an hour enhances its potential, making it perfect to accompany game dishes, spiced meats and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This label originates in Alto Adige, in a mountain wine-growing area of rare beauty. The vines grow at altitudes between 350 and 450 metres, an ideal climate for ensuring excellent balance of flavour. The roots draw nourishment from alluvial soils, rich in porphyritic sediments and gravelly components. This particular soil composition is reflected in the glass, giving the wine a unique structure and deep aromatic concentration, distinctive traits of Alpine area productions.
How it is produced
The vineyards are cultivated using the Guyot system, with grape harvesting usually taking place at the beginning of October. Vinification involves traditional maceration at a controlled temperature in steel tanks, designed to best extract colour and phenolic structure. After malolactic fermentation, ageing continues on the fine lees in large wooden barrels. This stage allows the aromas to integrate harmoniously and ensures the wine a natural and fascinating longevity.
