Description

What kind of wine it is

The Champagne Les Prémices Extra Brut by Egly-Ouriet is the result of a meticulous blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir grapes. Crafted according to the strict standards of the Traditional Method, it reveals itself in the glass with a brilliant straw yellow hue and a fine perlage. On the nose, it expresses elegant floral notes combined with hints of pastry, while on the palate it impresses with its fresh and mineral sip, offering a vertical and precise drinking experience from the very first taste.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in the Champagne region from old vines cultivated across the eleven and a half hectares of the estate. The vineyards, located between the communes of Ambonnay and Trigny, are managed according to the principles of organic and sustainable viticulture. The strength of this cuvée lies in the characteristic chalky soils, which regulate hydration and reflect solar heat, giving the glass that typical gustatory tension that faithfully reflects the authenticity of its terroir of origin.

How it is produced

The creation process enhances the integrity of the fruit through fermentations carried out exclusively by indigenous yeasts. In line with the Traditional Method, the wine matures on the lees in the cellar for a period of 36 months, achieving an extraordinary harmony between structure and aromatic complexity. The disgorgement and restrained dosage define a rigorous Extra Brut style, which confirms the excellent longevity widely recognised in Egly-Ouriet's production.

History and Curiosities

Champagne Les Prémices Extra Brut by Egly-Ouriet is a refined expression of the French terroir, produced exclusively from the estate's 11.5 hectares. The typical chalky soils of Trigny and Ambonnay reflect sunlight, giving the wine an extraordinary mineral elegance. Vinified with indigenous yeasts in full respect of sustainable practices, it rests for 36 months on the lees, developing a delicate floral bouquet enriched with pastry notes. A wine appreciated by critics that enhances the freshness of the traditional method.

A Champagne that represents its terroir: the vine and soil are found throughout this wine, thanks to old vines, a few winemaker's secrets and modern technology. Egly-Ouriet produces champagne only with grapes from its 11.5 hectares company's vineyards, the most important of which are in Ambonnay, the home of Pinot Noir, the others in Bouzy, Verzenay and Vrigny. Quality begins on this particular soil, made up of layers of chalk that reflect the sun's rays and release heat to the vines at night, allowing excess water to be absorbed and giving the grapes a particularly mineral taste.
