The precious legacy of the ancestors was subsequently picked up by the descendants who, continued to run this historic distillery which, using discontinuous copper stills with bain-marie fed by steam, has always specialised in the production of Trentino grappas and distillates, certified and multi-awarded Internationally thanks to their unmistakable quality.
In 1949, Franco and Mario Bertagnolli introduced the 'Colonna Zadra', designed and built by the Trentino artisan branch-maker Tullio Zadra, still in use today: an innovative instrument for the selection and concentration of alcohols that, thanks to a delicate heating process, preserves intact and enhances the flavours and aromas of the original pomace.
Today, the Bertagnolli family is the ambassador of the "culture of distillate": Livia Bertagnolli, former Councillor of the Associazione Donne della Grappa, and Beppe Bertagnolli, past president of the Istituto Tutela Grappa del Trentino, proudly and ambitiously transmit to the world the ancient tradition of this Trentino grappa, noble by birth and aristocratic in taste, characterised by enchanting softness and unmistakable fragrance, with a unique and authentic character like the territory in which it was born.
With a long and significant history behind it, the Bertagnolli family infuses and immense energy every day to continue to make the most Italian of spirits shine in the firmament, which since 1870 has become a symbol of Italian food and wine culture on the tables of the 5 continents. Read more
