Description
Still white wine from the Loire, 13.5% ABV, produced by Domaine Didier Dagueneau. Sauvignon blend. 0.75L bottle, 2022 vintage. A Sancerre that embodies Didier Dagueneau's philosophy of pursuing perfection in Sauvignon Blanc. The domaine's founder, in fact, sought to make "the best Sauvignon Blanc in the world." His vineyard practices included extremely low yields, multiple hand-harvesting, and the unusual use of horses to plow the soil between the vines. Floral aromas on the nose, accompanied by notes of aromatic herbs that evoke the freshness of the terroir. Bright straw yellow in color. On the palate, the wine is elegant and intense, with a persistence that invites a second tasting.

His vineyard practices were a combination of the exacting extremely low yields, hand harvesting in multiple passes with the unusual, such as using horses to plow the soil between vines.
He was described as a risk taker and an experimenter, with perfectionist attitudes to his work, cutting yields severely to achieve greater ripeness.
Now the domaine is owned by his 2 sons: Benjamin and Charlotte. Read more
